PS : This post is already posted on
but wanted to share it here 🤍This post is featured in the upcoming ebook, so consider this a little preview. As promised, I’ll be sharing a few essays and diary entries here just to give you a taste of what’s coming.
A diary entry :
I like the ocean, summer, and the sun on my face especially when my skin gets that beautiful color from being in the sun, with a soft blush that looks so pretty. I love when my hair gets wavy from the saltwater, and it smells like coconut, monoi, and SPF. I love the air hitting my face, walking barefoot on the sand before swimming it’s truly my therapy. I love swimming in the ocean. The water is so blue, so clear, and the air feels so fresh. I look up at the sun, and I could stay there for hours, swimming without thinking about anything. No overthinking, no stress just living the moment. Each time at the beach feels so special to me. I see people smiling, swimming, and it reminds me of when I was a kid spending hours at the beach, forgetting to eat, forgetting sunscreen, and getting all tanned with a sun-kissed blush on my cheeks.
For perfume, I go for notes like bergamot, heliotrope, freesia , monoi, coconut, vanilla, and a bit of rose. I recently got a hair oil made only with camellia oil it smells heavenly, like a perfect summer beach day, sun-on-skin vibes. I’ll use it to style my waves in summer. My hair naturally gets lighter in the sun, like it catches highlights from the heat. I’m not sure how I feel about it, but I think it’s part of summer and once winter comes, my hair gets dark again. So maybe I should just enjoy this golden version while it lasts.
My favorite beach days were last year and the year before. I remember being on vacation I didn’t even feel like swimming that day, I was just really excited to read this French book I had brought with me. I wore cozy clothes and stayed in the hotel, reading. I finished it in three days and felt so happy. It was honestly one of the best feelings. I always think that without internet, I’d finish all the books I own, read all the articles I’ve saved, and do so much more
I wouldn’t say summer is my favorite season, but what I do love about it is the gelato especially blueberry, mango, and blackcurrant. They’re just so delicious. I love discovering new ice cream flavors every year. There’s this little shop where I live that is amazing, for gelato and they have every flavor you can imagine. Every time I get one, I feel so happy and think, “I should come back here again,” maybe even bring my bestie because it’s honestly better than any fancy gelato shop.
I want to take photos in every corner of the city all the beautiful places, every street and hidden café, and later write a diary entry about it on Substack, sharing a list of spots I absolutely adored.
I imagine myself waking up early, watching calm vlogs in the morning while getting ready on the balcony minimal makeup, light coming in, birds singing, journaling with a latte , a soft podcast in the background. I want to watch Italian hauls before the trip to get inspired, to remind myself to buy all the little things that make everything prettier tiny souvenirs, cute bags, delicate jewelry, even bookmarks from local bookstores
I’ll wear the cutest sundresses, the ones with soft floral prints, my hair curly or wavy and silky from the sea breeze, and my skin tanned not in a weird way, but with that beautiful, sunkissed warmth, like a natural blush from the sun, the same shade as Rhode’s Pocket blush. My lips will be glossy, the perfect lip combo: a good lip liner mixed with the Rhode lip tint.
But this summer, I’ll be spending it in my home country and even so, I’m going to try to enjoy every single moment. I already made a Pinterest board, planned what to do, wrote a little bucket list, and saved a lot of content that matches the summer vibe I want to emulate. I highly recommend you do the same! It really helps get you in the mood and feel inspired. Here’s my summer bucket list for this year I’m especially excited to wear cute summer clothes, cool hats, go on night walks, and create content whenever I feel inspired.
