Early May vibe
May bucketlist, what I’ve been loving , my current makeup look, Met Gala favorite looks, healthy habits , 5 movies to watch this spring and a little list of things that make me happy
Hello & welcome back today put together a fun little update a mix of everything that's been inspiring me lately, favorite looks from the met, may bucketlist , a spring movies watchlist, a few things I’ve been saving recently and a list of things that make me happy , I’ve started posting on TikTok again , and I’ll be more active there over the next few days I’m also active on Instagram so make sure to follow me there too 💌
This week I went on a little solo date I just wanted to get some things I needed and discoverr new perfumes. I ended up getting a few herbs, a hairspray bottle, straw comb and some perfume samples. I also found a French shampoo that smells like honey and shea butter so cozy and warm.
Last month, though, I bought the Kérastase oil and… it turned out to be nothing like what I expected. I was so devastated honestly. That day, I really learned something: since I’m not working or making money right now, I should focus on buying things I actually need not the random little “wants” that can wait until I’m more financially stable. If you’ve read my older Substacks, you probably know I used to struggle with impulsive purchases. I would always come home feeling regretful, asking myself why I bought certain things.
But this time, I met a girl in the store and she told me something that really clicked. She said: “I always write a list on notes app before I go out that way I don’t get confused or distracted.” And honestly, she’s so right. Now I write everything I need down in my Notes app and in my commonplace book before leaving the house.
Yesterday I saw a TikTok of a girl doing a body care haul , and she bought the exact same body wash I saw in the store i wanted to buy it but bought samples of perfumes instead ahhahah it’s from a German brand , and she said it smells just like Snow Fairy from Lush! nexttt time i’ll get it
For my May scent, I feel like I’ll stick to my signature perfume it has notes of praline, blackcurrant, pear, vanilla, and patchouli. It just feels like me
Let me know what fragrance notes you’ve been into lately I’d love to discover new ones for May or spring in general.
Lately, when it comes to hair and makeup, I’ve been embracing my natural texture more. I either wear my hair curly or do heatless curls, and honestly, I feel like that suits me best. Ever since I got braces, I’ve noticed that my whole face has changed slightly, and straight hair just doesn’t feel right anymore. I don’t recognize myself in it. But with curls, I feel like me again.
For makeup, I’m really into a simple and fresh look. I skip mascara most days, or just add the tiniest bit in the ends , I use a soft pink blush, go for glossy cherry lips, and focus on keeping my skin hydrated and luminous. It’s minimal but makes me feel comfortable and confident. i also started using brown pencil to do a minimal cat eye just a bitttt in the ends in days where i don’t use mascara
I also have a wedding to attend in August, and I can’t stop thinking about what dress to wear. I’ve been imagining different silhouettes, colors, and materials. I’m also thinking of trying a red lip for the first time in my life. It feels bold but exciting, and maybe it’s the perfect occasion to try something new.
I’ll definitely be sharing more about this soon, and I’d love some help choosing the right dress and putting together the look.
Oh and one last sweet thing: on my way to the city, I met this old lady outside and it was such a beautiful day. She looked at me and said “It’s spring,” and I replied “Yes it’s beautiful.” Then she smiled and told me:
“You are spring. You’re gorgeous .”
I wasn’t expecting that at all. She was so sweet, and honestly you could tell she was probably the fun girl when she was younger just from the way she talked. She didn’t even look that old either haha. I love cool grandmas so much.
A few things that have been making me happy lately:
making and eating crêpes with apricot jam, going on morning walks when the sun is out, taking care of myself with a consistent Pilates and weights routine, rewatching early 2000s romcoms, reading Substack articles that inspire me, repeating outfits I love, wearing cool outfits that feel like me, watching calming vlogs, buying a few new things I actually use, discovering new perfumes, talking with my friends and online mutuals, writing in my journal and keeping up with my gratitude pages, eating yummy food and delicious chocolate, choosing to focus on positive thoughts instead of getting lost in the negative, daydreaming about places I’ve never been to (because who knows, maybe I’ll actually go one day ) , watching hauls on tiktoks ( saved 100 help ) , trying new workout routines each week just to keep things fun and fresh.
May bucket list :
Indulge in delicious gelatos and yummy sweets
– read more Substack articles in the morning instead of scrolling
– Give my hair all the love it deserves: more nourishing care, more heatless curl days
– Submit to more jobs
– Watch classic old movies
– Go on more solo dates bookstores, cafés, long walks… and maybe document the moments on Substack.
– Discover a new signature scent for summer
– Glow-up mode: activated. That means more mindful wellness routines and slow beauty rituals.
– Reunite with my besties .
– Maybe a new crush? I need to feel butterflies and be creatively re-inspired again.
- try new hairstyles in spring with cute accessories..
– Post more on TikTok and all my socials
Lately, I’ve been craving clarity digitally and mentally. So I’ve decided to go on a little curation cleanse.
– Starting with Pinterest: reorganizing my boards, deleting pins that no longer align with me, and reshaping my space into a true visual sanctuary. A place where every pin feels like a soft spark of inspiration.
– Then it’s on to TikTok clearing out the chaos in my saved folder, finally watching the ones I meant to and deleting anything that doesn’t feel like me anymore.
– My socials in general? They’re getting a makeover too. Less noise, more intention. I want my feeds to be full of creativity, beauty, thoughtful content not content that drains me.
Curation isn’t just about aesthetics it’s about energy. I want to build a digital space that feels like home to my future self
Favorite looks from the met :
I’ll be honest this year’s Met Gala didn’t quite do it for me I was genuinely expecting more iconic looks and jaw-dropping moments. That said, I did have a few favorites!
One standout for me was Clairo she looked absolutely ethereal holding that cat, Also adored Jennie and Gigi Hadid, they both delivered effortlessly. But if I had to pick one true favorite, it’s definitely Clairo soft, surreal, and unforgettable
Leaving you with 5 films that feel like spring in motion soft, dreamy, or quietly powerful. I hope this post brought something gentle or inspiring your way. I’ve got a hundred more thoughts lined up, so peek at the polls and lmk🩷
